Hawaiian Crow or 'Alalā—Habitat restoration and reintroduction into the wild

American Forests

The Hawaiian Crow or 'Alalā has been extinct in the wild since 2002. The Betlach Family Foundation worked together with American Forests to help restore areas of the 18,000 acre Pu'u Maka'ala Natural Area Reserve (NAR) and release captive reared 'Alalā into the reserve in attempt to rebuild the population on the Big Island of Hawaii.
